Assessment and access: How can assessment be used to measure an institution’s ability to provide access for underrepresented groups?
It is important for institutions to address the various ways we may systematically exclude some populations of students (e.g. disabled students or students of color) from the assessment process, or in the “closing the loop” process. In this session I will present some preliminary ideas about possible “weak” points in the assessment process that may miss certain groups of students and discuss what these may mean or miss about the general health of the institution’s assessment and interpreting assessment results. I will also invite discussion of these ideas from the group.
